Project Management Unit Facilitated Forest Law Enforcement in the Project Area

To enforce Forest Law and conserve the remaining forests, the Project Management Unit (PMU) facilitated forest patrolling in the Project site from January to March 2020. The Field Implementation Unit members have been collaborating with the local FA officers to patrol forests in the Project site. As a result, 06 illegal charcoal kilns; 06 illegal cottages occupying community forest land have been demolished in Prey Khum Sochet Community Forestry area; 03 warning contracts were issued to illegal charcoal producers in January; and 08 chainsaws were confiscated in February. In March, the law enforcement team impounded 1.120 m³ of illegally logged wood. In total, 30 patrols were conducted from January to March 2020.
